Fakin' It (stylized as Fakin' It!) is a social deduction video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 3.

A sequel, Fakin' It All Night Long, was released as part of The Jackbox Naughty Pack in 2024.

Gameplay

All players will recieve a prompt on their device with a certain scenario, of which they'll have to read and form an answer to; however, one of the players will not receive said prompt, thus being the Faker—their goal is to try to blend in with the other players throughout the round without getting caught.

When all players reveal their answers, everyone (as well as the Audience) will then get to cast a vote on which person they think is the Faker. However, it is obligatory that the vote is unanimous in order to catch the Faker.

If there isn't a clear consensus, the Faker gets away for that round; however, if there is a consensus on a player, their role is presented to everyone.

  • If the player isn't the Faker, then the Faker will get away for that round.
  • If the player is the Faker, however, then they're caught and the round ends there.
  • If none of the players manage to single out who the Faker is thoughout the round, then the Faker's identity is shown.

Once all rounds have concluded or the Faker's caught, an overview of the round is shown. The Faker will earn 105 points or more depending on how many rounds they've managed to get away from, whilst the other players earn nothing; however, a player can earn a Sleuth Bonus if their vote was casted on said Faker, with increasing point values depending on how many rounds they've voted them on.

The final round will always consist on a "Text You Up" prompt, where everyone will be given three separate prompts that they'll have to answer, whilst the Faker gets either adjacent or unrelated prompts to answer instead. When all answers are in, the prompt is shown, along with everyone's answers and the voting commences.

After all rounds have concluded, the points are tallied up, and the player with the most of them at the end of the game wins. There'll also be honorary titles for Best Sleuth and Best Faker.
