You Don't Know Jack (commonly abbreviated as YDKJ) is a series of trivia games developed by Jackbox Games. The series, framed as a game show "where high culture and pop culture collide", combines trivia and comedy.
You Don't Know Jack spans over two dozen games and compilations, with the majority released on Windows and Mac platforms. However, a few entries have been released on video game consoles, such as the PlayStation.
As of 2018, the latest entry in the series is You Don't Know Jack: Full Stream, part of The Jackbox Party Pack 5.
History
The series was originally co-developed by Jellyvision and Berkeley Systems, and was first released by the latter in 1995 for Windows and Macintosh platforms.
In 1997, the publishing rights were transferred to Sierra On-Line, following the acquisition of Berkeley by Sierra's then-parent company CUC International on April 11th.[1]
In late 2002, the publishing rights to You Don't Know Jack were acquired by Jellyvision.[2]
The rights to You Don't Know Jack now belong to Jackbox Games, founded on August 12th, 2008 as Jellyvision Games, the relaunched games division of The Jellyvision Lab[3], before being spun-off into its own separate company in December of 2011.[4] The company adopted its current name on June 5th, 2013.[5]
