Twitch is an American video live-streaming service popular in video games, including broadcasts of esports competitions. The service is operated by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon.

Twitch Log-In

Twitch Log-In (or "Twitch Required") is a setting that allows the host to lock a game to only players logged into their Twitch account.

To play Twitch-Locked games, you simply go to Jackbox.TV, click the hamburger menu (formerly a "cog" icon[1]), and click the "Twitch" button (formerly labeled "Twitch Login"[1])—if you haven't already logged in, you'll be required to follow the Twitch authentication flow. Once logged in, Jackbox.TV will automatically fill in your Twitch username into the Name field.

One of the main benefits of using Twitch on Jackbox.TV is persistent login, so you can rejoin an active game from any browser or device.[1]

The option was first introduced in an update to Quiplash, released quietly in December of 2015[2], before being officially announced on January 8th, 2016.[1]

The option was later added to Fibbage XL (standalone version only), Drawful 2[3] and The Jackbox Party Pack 3, and has been in every Jackbox game ever since.

Jackbox Audience Kit

Jackbox Audience Kit is a Twitch extension that launched in December of 2020.[4] It allows for audience members to join and play along within the Twitch app itself, as opposed to opening up Jackbox.TV in a separate browser window and joining that way.

When installed (as either an overlay or component), the Jackbox Audience Kit extension automatically activates when the stream's category is changed to Jackbox Party Packs.

Most Jackbox games with the Audience feature enabled are compatible with the Jackbox Audience Kit, except for You Don't Know Jack: Full Stream, The Devils and the Details, Quixort, and Dodo Re Mi.[4]
