All players are presented with a multiple choice trivia question ''(or a memorization question)'' with 4 different options for each one. The players have to guess which answer is the correct one. If they guess correctly, they get $1,000 each; meanwhile, the people who got it wrong get sent to '''<u>The Killing Floor</u>''', where one out of a multitude of minigames will be played. '''''(See "Minigames" for more information.)'''''
The [[Audience]] can also answer the questions, of which they'll get a percentage of a $1,000 pool, depending on how many members got the question right. The Audience can also wager for if the participants of the Killing Floor will survive or not, with the same cash pool as stated before.
After a minigame is played, the scoreboard is shown and its onto the next question.
This process repeats itself for 10 rounds, at which, if there's more than one player alive, a final '''''Loser Wheel''''' round will be played. The players will get to spin the wheel in order from least to most money until there's one player left.
Once all but one of the players are dead, the '''<u>final round</u>''' is played, where the last player alive will try to escape the hotel by picking (or not) two of the answers to a question. Ghosts will also try to catch up with the alive player, and they'll have three answers to pick from as opposed to two. The alive player will earn $500 per correct answer, whilst ghosts get $333 per correct answer. ''(The Audience can also answer the questions, of which they'll earn $333 per correct answer; the same amount the ghosts earn.)''
If one of the ghosts catches up to the alive player, then they can steal their life force, making the alive player a ghost, but they'll be stuck with their two answers.
* If the player manages to get through all of the questions without their life force being stolen, then '''<u>they win the game</u>'''.
* If a ghost catches up to the alive player, however, then they take their life force, and '''<u>the ghost who caught up to them wins the game</u>'''.
== Minigames ==
The Killing Floor consists of a multitude of minigames, one of which is played when one (or more) player(s) gets a question wrong ''(each minigame below is shown in alphabetical order)'':
'''<big><u>Arena</u> -</big>''' Two or more players have three options: attack, defend or taking the money. This minigame can end in three different ways:
* If the player(s) successfully defend themselves if someone picks to attack someone, the attacker(s) die.
* If no one attacks, but the player(s) still defend themselves and others grabbed some money, the defender(s) die.
* If everyone grabs the money, they all die.
The players who grabbed the cash will get a $500 bonus, whether they died or not.
<big>'''<u>Chalices</u>''' '''-'''</big> All safe players are given one poison pellet apiece that they'll have to place in one of the cups present ''(if at least one person doesn't get their poison pellet in time, the game will put that pellet in a randomly selected cup.)'' The players will then have to pick one of the cups, without knowing if they're poisoned or not. If at least one player picks one of the poisoned chalices, they'll die.
Safe players who managed to kill someone with their poison pellet will get a $500 bonus.
<big><u>'''Decisions Decisions'''</u> '''-'''</big> A stack of cash is presented to the players, of which they'll have two options to pick from: simply taking or not taking the money.
* If no players grab the money, nobody dies.
* If at least one person grabbed the money, then everyone else who didn't take the money dies.
* If everyone takes the money, everyone dies.
All players who grabbed the money will earn a split amount of cash of the $2,000 total.
<big>'''<u>Dice</u> -'''</big> Three dice are rolled, which will determine a randomly generated average. Then a random safe player will have the choice to pick whether the players present in the minigame should roll higher or lower than the value given. If the player(s) don't succeed, they'll die.
<big><u>'''Drawn and Quartered'''</u> '''-'''</big> All players present will be presented with a prompt that they'll have to draw as best as they can. Once all players are finished, everyone gets to vote on which drawing they think is the ''worst'' (unless there are two players present in the minigame, then they don't get to vote.) The player who gets the most votes dies.
<big><u>'''Fingers'''</u> '''-'''</big> The game will prompt the players to cut one of their fingers, of which they won't be able to answer the question with said finger (ex. if a player cuts their second finger, then they won't be able to answer with the second choice in a question.) Players who do not cut the finger within the alloted time will die, but will still be able to answer questions like normal. Players who do cut a finger will earn a $33 bonus for ''"selling it online."''
<big>'''<u>Greed</u> -'''</big> Another stack of cash is presented to the players. This time, they'll have to type out a desired number of money that they'll pick up from 0 to 1,000. After all numbers are shown, the players who pick the highest and the lowest amounts will die.
The players will still pick up their desired amount of money, whether they die or not.
<big><u>'''Loser Wheel'''</u> '''-'''</big> An impactful luck-based minigame. The player is simply tasked with spinning the Loser Wheel, which will spin around until coming to a stop.
* If the player lands in one of the <u>DEATH</u> slots, they'll die.
* If they, however, land on one of the <u>LIFE</u> slots, they'll get to live for the remainder of the game.
<big><u>'''Math'''</u> '''-'''</big> All players are prompted to answer various math equations on their device within 30 seconds.
* If there's only one player participating, they'll be prompted to answer 10 or up to 25 math questions correctly. If they don't meet that number, they'll die.
* If there's two or more players participating, the player(s) who answer the least equations (correctly or otherwise) will die.
Everyone will get $25 per correct math equation, whether they die or not
<big><u>'''Memory'''</u> '''-'''</big> All players are prompted to memorize six cards, each containing either a sword, grenade or gun, and be colored blue, green or yellow. The players will then be prompted to reproduce the order of either the weapons or the colors.
* If there's two or less players in the Killing Floor, then the safe players will have a crack at memorizing the pattern too. If at least one of the safe players does better than the player(s) in the Killing Floor, then they'll die.
* If there's two or more players in the Killing Floor, then they all will try to memorize the pattern, without the risk of the safe players participating. The player with the lowest percentage will die.
* If everyone gets memorizes the pattern perfectly, nobody dies. Even if the safe players do it perfectly as well.
Players will earn $100 per correct card, whether they're alive or dead.
<big>'''<u>Patterns</u> -'''</big> A grid with randomly "splattered" red and brown squares will be shown to everyone, ''columns and rows will depend on the amount of players in the game''. The players will then have to memorize the pattern as best as they can.
* If there's two or less players in the Killing Floor, then the safe players will also have to memorize the pattern too. If at least one of the safe players does better than the player(s) in the Killing Floor, then they'll die.
* If there's two or more players in the Killing Floor, then they all will try to memorize the pattern, without the risk of the safe players participating.
* If everyone gets memorizes the pattern perfectly, nobody dies. Even if the safe players do it perfectly as well.
Players will earn a percentage of a $1,000 bonus, depending on how much of the pattern they've memorized.
<big><u>'''Words'''</u> '''-'''</big> A board with fifteen or more letters will show up on screen. Their job is to connect those letters to form the longest word they can possibly make.
* If there's one player in the Killing Floor, the safe players will also have a crack at trying to spell out the longest word too. If at least one of the safe players spells out a longer word than the Killing Floor player, or the player's word is not in the game's dictionary, then they'll die.
* If there's two or more players in the Killing Floor, then they'll all try to spell the longest word. The player with the shortest word will die, unless a player's word isn't recognized by the game's dictionary, then they'll die instead.
** If there's a tie on the shortest word, then they both die.
Players will earn $100 per letter submitted in their word. However, if their word's not "real" by the game's standards, then they don't get any bonuses.
<big><u>'''Worst Answer'''</u> '''-'''</big> Everyone's presented with a prompt, of which everyone has to write an answer for. Then everyone else (including the safe players) will have to pick which one of the answers was the worst one. The one with the most votes will die.

Trivia Murder Party is a trivia video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 3. It is the first installment in the Trivia Murder Party series.

Gameplay

All players are presented with a multiple choice trivia question (or a memorization question) with 4 different options for each one. The players have to guess which answer is the correct one. If they guess correctly, they get $1,000 each; meanwhile, the people who got it wrong get sent to The Killing Floor, where one out of a multitude of minigames will be played. (See "Minigames" for more information.)

The Audience can also answer the questions, of which they'll get a percentage of a $1,000 pool, depending on how many members got the question right. The Audience can also wager for if the participants of the Killing Floor will survive or not, with the same cash pool as stated before.

After a minigame is played, the scoreboard is shown and its onto the next question.

This process repeats itself for 10 rounds, at which, if there's more than one player alive, a final Loser Wheel round will be played. The players will get to spin the wheel in order from least to most money until there's one player left.

Once all but one of the players are dead, the final round is played, where the last player alive will try to escape the hotel by picking (or not) two of the answers to a question. Ghosts will also try to catch up with the alive player, and they'll have three answers to pick from as opposed to two. The alive player will earn $500 per correct answer, whilst ghosts get $333 per correct answer. (The Audience can also answer the questions, of which they'll earn $333 per correct answer; the same amount the ghosts earn.)

If one of the ghosts catches up to the alive player, then they can steal their life force, making the alive player a ghost, but they'll be stuck with their two answers.

  • If the player manages to get through all of the questions without their life force being stolen, then they win the game.
  • If a ghost catches up to the alive player, however, then they take their life force, and the ghost who caught up to them wins the game.

Minigames

The Killing Floor consists of a multitude of minigames, one of which is played when one (or more) player(s) gets a question wrong (each minigame below is shown in alphabetical order):

Arena - Two or more players have three options: attack, defend or taking the money. This minigame can end in three different ways:

  • If the player(s) successfully defend themselves if someone picks to attack someone, the attacker(s) die.
  • If no one attacks, but the player(s) still defend themselves and others grabbed some money, the defender(s) die.
  • If everyone grabs the money, they all die.

The players who grabbed the cash will get a $500 bonus, whether they died or not.

Chalices - All safe players are given one poison pellet apiece that they'll have to place in one of the cups present (if at least one person doesn't get their poison pellet in time, the game will put that pellet in a randomly selected cup.) The players will then have to pick one of the cups, without knowing if they're poisoned or not. If at least one player picks one of the poisoned chalices, they'll die.

Safe players who managed to kill someone with their poison pellet will get a $500 bonus.

Decisions Decisions - A stack of cash is presented to the players, of which they'll have two options to pick from: simply taking or not taking the money.

  • If no players grab the money, nobody dies.
  • If at least one person grabbed the money, then everyone else who didn't take the money dies.
  • If everyone takes the money, everyone dies.

All players who grabbed the money will earn a split amount of cash of the $2,000 total.

Dice - Three dice are rolled, which will determine a randomly generated average. Then a random safe player will have the choice to pick whether the players present in the minigame should roll higher or lower than the value given. If the player(s) don't succeed, they'll die.

Drawn and Quartered - All players present will be presented with a prompt that they'll have to draw as best as they can. Once all players are finished, everyone gets to vote on which drawing they think is the worst (unless there are two players present in the minigame, then they don't get to vote.) The player who gets the most votes dies.

Fingers - The game will prompt the players to cut one of their fingers, of which they won't be able to answer the question with said finger (ex. if a player cuts their second finger, then they won't be able to answer with the second choice in a question.) Players who do not cut the finger within the alloted time will die, but will still be able to answer questions like normal. Players who do cut a finger will earn a $33 bonus for "selling it online."

Greed - Another stack of cash is presented to the players. This time, they'll have to type out a desired number of money that they'll pick up from 0 to 1,000. After all numbers are shown, the players who pick the highest and the lowest amounts will die.

The players will still pick up their desired amount of money, whether they die or not.

Loser Wheel - An impactful luck-based minigame. The player is simply tasked with spinning the Loser Wheel, which will spin around until coming to a stop.

  • If the player lands in one of the DEATH slots, they'll die.
  • If they, however, land on one of the LIFE slots, they'll get to live for the remainder of the game.

Math - All players are prompted to answer various math equations on their device within 30 seconds.

  • If there's only one player participating, they'll be prompted to answer 10 or up to 25 math questions correctly. If they don't meet that number, they'll die.
  • If there's two or more players participating, the player(s) who answer the least equations (correctly or otherwise) will die.

Everyone will get $25 per correct math equation, whether they die or not

Memory - All players are prompted to memorize six cards, each containing either a sword, grenade or gun, and be colored blue, green or yellow. The players will then be prompted to reproduce the order of either the weapons or the colors.

  • If there's two or less players in the Killing Floor, then the safe players will have a crack at memorizing the pattern too. If at least one of the safe players does better than the player(s) in the Killing Floor, then they'll die.
  • If there's two or more players in the Killing Floor, then they all will try to memorize the pattern, without the risk of the safe players participating. The player with the lowest percentage will die.
  • If everyone gets memorizes the pattern perfectly, nobody dies. Even if the safe players do it perfectly as well.

Players will earn $100 per correct card, whether they're alive or dead.

Patterns - A grid with randomly "splattered" red and brown squares will be shown to everyone, columns and rows will depend on the amount of players in the game. The players will then have to memorize the pattern as best as they can.

  • If there's two or less players in the Killing Floor, then the safe players will also have to memorize the pattern too. If at least one of the safe players does better than the player(s) in the Killing Floor, then they'll die.
  • If there's two or more players in the Killing Floor, then they all will try to memorize the pattern, without the risk of the safe players participating.
  • If everyone gets memorizes the pattern perfectly, nobody dies. Even if the safe players do it perfectly as well.

Players will earn a percentage of a $1,000 bonus, depending on how much of the pattern they've memorized.

Words - A board with fifteen or more letters will show up on screen. Their job is to connect those letters to form the longest word they can possibly make.

  • If there's one player in the Killing Floor, the safe players will also have a crack at trying to spell out the longest word too. If at least one of the safe players spells out a longer word than the Killing Floor player, or the player's word is not in the game's dictionary, then they'll die.
  • If there's two or more players in the Killing Floor, then they'll all try to spell the longest word. The player with the shortest word will die, unless a player's word isn't recognized by the game's dictionary, then they'll die instead.
    • If there's a tie on the shortest word, then they both die.

Players will earn $100 per letter submitted in their word. However, if their word's not "real" by the game's standards, then they don't get any bonuses.

Worst Answer - Everyone's presented with a prompt, of which everyone has to write an answer for. Then everyone else (including the safe players) will have to pick which one of the answers was the worst one. The one with the most votes will die.
