Guesspionage is a trivia video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 3.
The game centers around players guessing a percentage related to a question they're given, then wager whether the guess is higher or lower than the actual percentage, which is based on answers from surveys.
Gameplay
One player is selected and presented with a survey question (for example: How many people leave their keys in their car?) and they'll be presented with a graph with the percentages from 1 to 100. The player will then have to drag the graph to the percentage they think would be accurate to the number of people who related with that scenario through a pre-surveyed prompt. (If there's more than five people in the Audience, then they can answer the survey themselves, and the player will instead have to guess what percentage of the audience related to said prompt.)
Once the player pins their estimated guess on the graph, the other players will predict whether their guess was lower or higher. If the game is played with 5 or less players, two more buttons will be shown in the second round, those being "much higher" or "much lower," which they can guess if they think that the selected player's answer is at least 15% off of the actual answer.
When all players' submissions are in, the real percentage is shown.
- If the player is within 30% of the actual answer, they get a part of a total of 3,000 points.
- However, if the player is over the 30% range, they don't get any points.
Once the graph is shown and the selected player's score is presented, the predictions are revealed.
- Players earn 1,000 points for if they correctly guess that their answer was higher or lower. The others don't earn anything.
- Players earn 2,000 points for if they correctly guess that their answer was much higher or lower; however, if the answer isn't more than 15% off, they don't earn any points.
- Players don't earn any points if the selected player got the percentage spot-on.
This cycle repeats after all players have gotten selected once.
The final round will have the players presented with a final prompt and nine answers plastered on a 3 by 3 board. All players will then have to pick three different answers that they think would have the highest percentages. Once everyone's voted, all answers are shown. Players can earn 1,000 points if they picked on of the third-placed percentages, 2,000 for second, and 4,000 for first.
Once all rounds are concluded, all player's scores are shown and the player with the most points wins.
