Quixort is a trivia video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 9.

Gameplay

All players from one team will be prompted to select one of two prompts: a game-selected category and a mystery prompt, which will pick a random prompt from the list. Whichever gets the most votes at the end will be chosen, then the prompt will feature in what order they'll have to sort the blocks in.

When the category's picked, a player will have a block relating to said category and they'll have to align it to where they think the answer falls on the range by using both the left and right buttons on their device in order to shift their character and its block in that direction; they can also slam the block down on the range by pressing its respective button. If there's more than one player in the game, everyone will have a chance at placing different blocks in the range. The Audience will also be able to sort the blocks when they appear on-screen by dragging them on their device and inserting them into one of the nine slots.

After all the blocks have been sorted, they're aligned and their score is calculated, depending on how accurate the sorting is to its actual answer.

  • 1,000 points are awarded if they successfully managed to align the block.
  • 500 points are awarded if their block was one slot away from its correct position.
  • 250 points are awarded if their block was two slots away from its correct position.
  • 100 points are awarded if their block was three slots away from its correct position.
  • No points are awarded if their block was four or more slots away from its correct position.
    • A streak bonus, worth 250 points per placement, will be added if the blocks were in the correct timeline order, whether off of the correct position or not.
  • If the team manages to align all the blocks in the correct order, a "Quixort" cutscene plays, which will grant the team with a whopping 14,000 points.

Once the first team's score is calculated, the second team will have two different categories to pick, still abiding by the same sorting rules. Meanwhile, the team that isn't playing their turn that round will be prompted with a minigame consisting of feeding the Trash Monster by tapping a button on their device repeatedly.

In the second round, decoy answers are secretly implemented into the set of blocks in each category, along with their "Trash Monsters" to remove of said decoy blocks, located at the far left and right of the range. The team's job is to align the blocks accurately whilst avoiding adding a decoy answer in the mix—if they think one of the answers is a decoy, they must slam the block into one of the Trash Monsters in order to remove them; however, tehy won't be able to retrieve the answer after it's discarded.

If either a decoy answer gets added into the range or a real answer gets discarded, then those blocks won't be worth any points.

In the third round, the game will work just like the last two, but will instead include a "second try" mechanic where they'll be able to redo the arrangement of the category's blocks. If the team manages to match two or more answers in the correct order, they'll be stacked up and placed on the range; the game will also readd real answers if they've been discarded, but will keep the decoy answers if they haven't yet been discarded.

Once all attempts have been used and all blocks have been added to the range, the team's score is shown, and the next team will sort next.

After all rounds have concluded, all the scores from all previous rounds will be added up, and the team with the most of them by the end of the game will be the winner.

Quixort Forever

This mode of Quixort will have all players work on the same team, and it'll work just like in the regular version, but the prompts will instead be chosen at random.

This mode also introduces crystalized blocks which will form whenever the player(s) place a block in an incorrect spot, creating blockages on the range to obstruct the board; these can be removed, however. If the players manage to earn a streak, it'll cause the crystalized blocks surrounding them to clear up.

The game ends when the crystalized blocks manage to take up all of the remaining space on the board, which will then show the team's final score.
