The Jackbox Party Pack 7 is a party video game developed and published by Jackbox Games. It is the seventh installment in The Jackbox Party Pack series, and contains five games: Quiplash 3, The Devils and the Details, Champ'd Up, Talking Points, and Blather 'Round.

New Features

The Jackbox Party Pack 7 introduced a bunch of new features:

  • Full content moderation: Moderation has been enhanced through Jackbox.TV, replacing the Manual Censoring feature. These new tools allow for streamers/mods to approve or reject content before it is seen by any players, and are also not required to be a player in the game to access said tools.[2] To access the moderation tools, a streamer/mod would simply go to mod.jackbox.tv, then enter the room code followed by a moderation password, the latter of which is shown on the settings screen when moderation is turned on. Moderation is available in Quiplash 3, Champ'd Up, and Talking Points.
  • Profanity filter: When enabled, the game will automatically reject any words that may be considered offensive.[2] There are three levels: Off (no text filtering), Moderator (words used in hateful speech will be rejected, but profanity is allowed), and Strict (words used in hateful speech and profanity will be rejected). Profanity filter is available in all but one game (The Devils and the Details) in the pack.
  • Motion sensitivity: This option, when enabled, reduces the amount of visual movement in the game. Available in Quiplash 3, Champ'd Up, and Talking Points.[3]
  • Room code reading: All of the games in Party Pack 7 have an option to have the host read the room code in the lobby.[3]
  • Enhanced game selection screen: The main game selection menu contains a new step-by-step animated How-To screen, and an improved Settings menu with the ability to adjust the individual volume sliders, such as Master, Host, SFX, and Music (first introduced in The Jackbox Party Pack 4) direct from the game picker screen.

History

The Jackbox Party Pack 7 was first announced on February 20th, 2020.[4] The first title confirmed for the pack was Quiplash 3, which was announced during PAX East on February 27th, 2020.[5]

The second game confirmed was The Devils and the Details, announced on April 2nd, 2020.[6]

The third game, Champ'd Up, was announced on June 23rd, 2020.[7]

The fourth game, Talking Points, was announced on July 2nd, 2020.[8]

The fifth and final game confirmed was Blather 'Round, announced on July 24th, 2020.[9]

On September 10th, 2020, The Jackbox Party Pack 7's release date of October 15th was unveiled, with pre-orders opening on the same day.[10] A trailer followed on September 28th.[11]

The Jackbox Party Pack 7 became the first game in the series to have TV commercials, which began airing in November of 2020.[12]

On November 30th, 2021, Jackbox Games launched a physical version of The Jackbox Party Pack 7 for Xbox, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.[13] This marked the second time a Jackbox party pack received a physical version, the first being The Jackbox Party Pack.
