Tim Sniffen is a game director, writer, voice actor, and artist at Jackbox Games.
Career
Tim Sniffen began his career at Berkeley Systems[1] in 1995, where he started as an artist for the After Dark screensaver franchise (most notably Looney Tunes Animated Screen Saver and Totally Twisted After Dark), before working his way to the YOU DON'T KNOW JACK series.
He later became a lead artist for YOU DON'T KNOW JACK Movies, a game made in collaboration with Jellyvision.
Following the acquisition of Berkeley Systems by Sierra On-Line, Tim eventually left in 1998 to join You Don't Know Jack creator Jellyvision[1], where he served as one of the art directors for YOU DON'T KNOW JACK 5th Dementia, and later served as an animator for YOU DON'T KNOW JACK (2011).
After Jellyvision Games was spun-off into a separate company and renamed to Jackbox Games, Tim served as an art director for Fibbage (with David Innis), Word Spud, and Lie Swatter (the latter of which he also co-directed with Mark Turowetz and Arnie Niekamp) for The Jackbox Party Pack, and voiced the host of Bidiots for The Jackbox Party Pack 2.
Since 2018, Tim Sniffen has become more involved with Jackbox Games full-time[1], voicing Mayonnaise in Split the Room from The Jackbox Party Pack 5, led the art for Dictionarium from The Jackbox Party Pack 6, voiced the host of The Devils and the Details from The Jackbox Party Pack 7, and served as lead editorial for Roomerang from The Jackbox Party Pack 9.
In 2023, Tim Sniffen made his sole directorial debut with Tee K.O. 2 from The Jackbox Party Pack 10.
In 2024, he directed Fakin' It All Night Long for The Jackbox Naughty Pack, followed by the standalone game, The Jackbox Survey Scramble.
In 2025, he directed Suspectives for The Jackbox Party Pack 11.
Outside of Jackbox, Tim Sniffen previously served as a writer and actor for Boom Chicago. He currently writes and acts for The Second City (since 2006), voices the Mysterious Man in the podcast Hello from the Magic Tavern, and has served as a writer and cartoonist for The New Yorker since 2018.[1]
