The Poll Mine is a survey party video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 8.
Gameplay
Regular Play
Players can join the game and will be prompted to write a team name, and then be shown the responses typed out by other players and they'll have to pick their three favorite ones—the one with the most votes overall will be chosen as the team name. Players can also switch teams if they desire.
When the team members and names have officially been chosen, they're dealt one torch apiece and a prompt will show up with eight different responses. The players will then have to pick and rank the answers shown on their device (from first, second and third favorite) by tapping them in order.
Once all players have entered in their responses, one of the teams will be prompted to choose a door (as well as the Audience), with its respective answer hovering on top, that they think is ranked amongst the top three in the category, which they'll be able to discuss among themselves.
- If the team manages to successfully pick the door that's within said range, they'll earn an additional torch.
- However, if the team doesn't manage to pick the door within the range, they'll lose a torch instead.
After the team's outcome is shown, the other team will take a crack at guessing another answer. This will continue on until all of the correct answers have been revealed.
The second round works just the same as the first, but with an additional fourth rank added to the answer choices, and the teams will be asked to revealed said answers that're ranked second to fourth. Players may also earn a singular torch if they run out of them during the first round.
In the third and final round, the players will have to rank an additional fifth choice to add to the rest, as well as attempting to reveal the answers in descending numerical order (A.K.A from eighth to first). However, in this round, the stakes are high—no torches will be awarded for a correct answer, and if one of the teams manages to lose all of their acquired torches in the round, if the other team successfully manages to guess the correct answer, they automatically win the game.
