The Jackbox Party Pack 5 is a party video game developed and published by Jackbox Games, and was released on October 17th, 2018.[1] It is the fifth installment in The Jackbox Party Pack series, and contains five games: YOU DON'T KNOW JACK: Full Stream, Split the Room, Mad Verse City, Patently Stupid, and Zeeple Dome.

The most notable new feature in this pack is the ability for the host to specify a maximum number of players in the settings for each game.

History

On March 16th, 2018, Jackbox Games posted on their blog announcing a partnership with a fictional service called "Binjpipe".[2]

The following month, on April 6th, during C2E2 and PAX East, Jackbox Games and "Binjpipe" announced a new You Don't Know Jack, the first game confirmed for The Jackbox Party Pack 5.[3]

The second game announced was Split the Room, unveiled on June 13th, 2018.[4]

The third game, Mad Verse City, was announced on July 14th, 2018.[5]

The fourth game unveiled was Patently Stupid, announced on August 7th, 2018.[6]

The fifth and final game, Zeeple Dome, was announced a week later, on August 16th, 2018.[7]

The Jackbox Party Pack 5 was made available for pre-order on September 20th, 2018, only for Steam users in the United States. The initial pre-order price was $24.99 USD, however the game's launch price would be $29.99 USD.[8]

The game's trailer was released on September 25th, along with the following release dates: October 16th on PlayStation 4, followed by October 17th on Xbox, Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, Xfinity X1, Apple TV, and iPad, among other platforms.[9] The Jackbox Party Pack 5 would be the first Jackbox game to launch natively on Linux.[1]
