Fibbage 4 is a trivia video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 9. It is the fourth and latest installment in the Fibbage series.
Fibbage 4 introduces a new visual style compared to the previous entries, as well as new special categories, a brand new final round, and improved Audience integration.
Gameplay
Regular
A randomly-selected player out of the bunch will pick one of five categories, which will display a prompt with a blanked out piece of information inside of it. The players will then type out a convincing lie that could trick the others into thinking it's the truth, or use the "Lie For Me" button for half the points. The Audience can also enter a lie by clicking one of the three lies on their device; whichever answer earns the most votes will be shown on the game's screen.
When all lies have been entered, they're all shown on-screen, along with the truth, then the players will have to find out which one of the answers shown is the truth—they can also give out likes to the lies that they liked the most. After which, all lies are revealed, along with the amount of players or Audience members who got tricked by their answer, earning the liar 500 points per player fooled, and a percentage of said points for the amount of Audience members who fall for their answer (and half of the points are awarded if they used the "Lie For Me" button) and will also earn 5 bonus points per like their answer has received. If at least one player finds the true answer, they'll be rewarded 1,000 points apiece.
Every once in a while, a special prompt will appear at least once per game, which could be one of these question types:
- Hyperbolic Headlines: The prompt will revolve around a strange title from a certain news outlet.
- Cookie's VHS Vault: The prompt will first show a short clip from an old film or show, then a prompt will show marking a fact about said clip. This is also the only special question where the timer and background layout's different from the rest.
- Fibbage Fan Fact: A Jackbox fan will tell a story from either their personal life or neighborhood with a weird artifact blanked out of their prompt.
- Very "Interesting" Person: A prompt will show up on screen about a certain individual doing some sort of strange activity. This prompt is sometimes replaced with its alternative counterpart, Very "Interesting" Dead Person, where a prompt shows up about a certain deceased individual.
The second round works just like the first, but with all point values doubled.
The third round or the Final Fibbage, however, will have two separate prompts showing up on screen, but will still have the players type in one singular prompt that could fill in both blanks. Once all answers are shown, the game will have the players pick an answer that'll fit the first prompt, then pick another (or the same one) for the second prompt. The point values are tripled and if a player manages to get their prompt picked for both blanks, a "Double Deception" bonus will be cast, granting the player a 1,000–point bonus.
When all rounds have finalized, the final scores are shown, and the player who earns the most at the end will win the game. An additional "Most Likes" segment will be shown for the player who's earned the most likes throughout the game.
Enough About You
The Enough About You edition of this game is pretty similar to the Regular version, but the players will instead be answering a question on their device that they'll have to type out a response to.
When all of the responses are in, they're shown one-by-one and the players (plus Audience members) will type out a convincing lie as their answer, and then have to find the truth among the lies.
