Talking Points is a presentation party video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 7.

Gameplay

Standard Play

All players will start out by typing in a prompt in their three fill-in-the-blank titles, which three of them will be shown to other players, and they'll have to pick which one they'd want to present.

Once all players have picked their presentation title, a queue will be set with a Speaker and an Assistant:

  • The Speaker will talk out loud about their presentation, whist using their drawing and text tools to try and make the presentation that they're talking about make sense.
  • The Assistant will be able to select what the next text segues and pictures should be for the Speaker to then talk about and present.

The presentations will be presented as follows: intro, title, picture, text segue, picture, text segue, picture, outro.

Whilst the two players are controlling the speech, the others can repeatedly click their "up" and "down" buttons on their device to interact with the speech; these buttons will contribute to the two players' presentation score.

When the presentation's complete, two different graphs'll be shown: a point graph, detailing the amount of button presses (which are 250 points apiece), and a line graph, showing the qualitative points of the presentation (measured by if the players pressed either "up" or "down".) Both of these will add up to a total score, of which the Assistant will get half of the Speaker's score. The others can also add in a quote to be shown in the recaps, preferably detailing the presentation they've seen. The Speaker can also rate how well their Assistant during the presentation, and the Assistant will be able to pick one of the images shown as their presentation's icon.

Once all presentations have been gone through, the almost-final scores are shown, then each player (as well as Audience members) will have one final award to give out, which they can name it whatever they want. When the award's names are in, the presentation recaps will be shown, along with a picture that the Assistant chose and the other players' quotes.

When all of the recaps have been gone through, an Awards Ceremony will be held, and the players will all give out their awards to the player they wish, awarding the Speaker of said presentation with 75,000 bonus points. When all of the awards are given out, they're shown on-screen, as well as which player they decided to give their award to. The player who manages to earn the most points at the end of the game will win.
