Fibbage is a trivia video game developed and published by Jackbox Games.
It was originally released as a launch title for the Amazon Fire TV on April 2nd, 2014.[2] It was later ported to the Xbox One on August 20th[3], followed by PlayStation on September 16th.[4]
An expanded version, Fibbage XL, was released as one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack. It was later re-released as a standalone game on Apple TV on October 27th, 2015[5], followed by a version for Windows and Mac (through Steam) on March 24th, 2016.[6] It was later ported to the Nintendo Switch on July 23rd, 2020.[7]
Gameplay
A randomly selected player will choose one out of five categories on their device, of which an unfinished fact will pop up.
The players will then have to type in an answer that they think would fool the other players into thinking it's the truth. They can also tap the "Lie For Me" button, which will give them two generated fake answers that they'll have to choose from.
Once all lies have been submitted, they'll show up on-screen along with the truth. The players will then have to find out which answer's the truth, without falling for other players' lies. Players can also give out likes to the answers they like.
When all votes have been received, the answers will show up one-by-one, revealing who wrote them. The liar will then earn 500 points per player fooled, and half of the points if they used their Lie For Me. If a player, however, falls for a game-submitted answer, then they lose the amount of points that they would if they fell for a player's lie. If one or more players find the truth, they'll be rewarded with 1,000 points.
After the round ends, the scoreboard is shown, showing the players along with their current score and what lie they typed in, as well as the amount of likes they received. After that, a new player is picked to pick another category.
The second round works pretty much the same as the first, but with the point values doubled.
The third and final round is called the Final Fibbage. In this round, worth triple the points, players are presented with only one prompt of which every player will be tasked to submit a lie to.
When all rounds are done, a final scoreboard is shown, with all the players' points accumulated, and the player with the most at the end will win.
A "Thumbs Up Cup" is rewarded to the player who earned the most amount of likes for their answers throughout the game, if any.
