Survive the Internet is a party video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 4.

Gameplay

NOTE: If there are only 3 players in the game, Gene (voiced by Spencer Ham) will join the lobby as a computer opponent.

All players will be tasked to answer a prompt regarding a certain topic (like, an honest opinion about roller skates, for example) of which another player will be prompted to take said answer out of context to ridicule them.

The answers, along with their twists, will be shown one-by-one on-screen, then everyone else will cast a vote on which answer they thought was the most absurd. If one of the players who twisted another player's comment earns at least one vote, they'll earn 100 points per vote, and if their answer has a clear majority of the votes, they'll earn a "Best Burn" bonus, worth 150 extra points. The player who wrote the original comment will also earn 20 pity points for every vote casted on their response, and will earn a 30 point bonus if the player who twisted said response earns the Best Burn bonus.

There'll be different types of rounds that'll be chosen for the first three rounds, these being:

• Check-In Site: The players will be tasked to write a description for their prompt, then the player twisting their response will have to attach a place, whether real or made up.
• Crowdfunding Site: The players will be tasked to write down a response to their prompt, whilst the player twisting their response will have to write down a campaign with it.
• E-Commerce Site: The players will be tasked to describe whatever's in their prompt, then the player twisting their response will list off a product of which the original comment might be describing.
• Job Networking Site: The players will be tasked to describe a character, of which the player twisting their response will have to write down a name that could relate to the description.
• News Site: The players will be tasked to write a comment about a certain topic, then the player twisting their comment will have to make up a news headline with said comment.
• Social Media Site: The player will be tasked to write a comment or description about a certain topic, whilst the player twisting their comment will add a hashtag alongside it.
• Video Site: The players will be tasked to write a comment about a ceratin topic, of which the player twisting their topic will have to type out the title of a video.
• Web Forum: The players will be tasked to enter their opinion on a certain topic, whilst the player twisting their response will write another response on top of theirs.

In the final round, the points are doubled. This round will always take place in a Photo-Sharing Site, which will have the players pick out an image to their respective scenario, and have another player twist the image they chose.

After all rounds have finished, the scores are tallied, and the player with the most of them at the end wins the game, as well as a cutscene of the hills opening up, sending the winning player to Hell.

Trivia

• Every time the game is booted up, the names and locations of the items will change, which will include various gags, among other things.
  • Some of the apps located on the desktop reference some other games from the Jackbox franchise. These being You Don't Know Jack Volume 1 and Word Spud 2.
    • In the case that the game is played on New Year's Eve, this app will be replaced with "New Year's Eve Kissing Simulator" instead.
• The desktop background is heavily inspired by Windows XP's default wallpaper (nicknamed "Bliss", originally named "Bucolic Green Hills"), which was originally taken by photographer Charles O'Rear in January 1996.
• The official Jackbox Games' Bandcamp page for Party Pack 4's soundtrack features an unused credits song for this game, which was replaced with an instrumental version of the same track.
• Typing in the URL "www.survivetheinternet.com", shown in the game's search tab, on any browser will redirect to jackbox.tv.
• This game uses the font family American Captain, designed by Michael Gene Adkins for The Fontry.
