YOU DON'T KNOW JACK (also known as the Webshow) was an online trivia video game developed by Jellyvision (now Jackbox Games) and launched on the official You Don't Know Jack website on March 5th, 2007.

The game is no longer available to play as of October 2010.

Gameplay

The game consisted of 7 questions in total per episode. Each episode had two special questions: The third question was always a DisOrDat, while the final question was the Jack Attack.

The scoring worked differently compared to the previous You Don't Know Jack games—instead of a fixed amount, it's the remaining amount of time the player had since they answered the question.

The player had 20 seconds to answer each standard question—the quicker they buzz in, the more money at stake. (e.g. If a player answered correctly with 18.15 seconds remaining, the player scored $1,815. Otherwise, they lose $1,815.)

After the game is finished, you could save your score to a personal and global leaderboard (also nicknamed "The Big Scoreboard") if you had an account.

Episodes

From March 5th, 2007 to September 22nd, 2008, a total of 100 episodes were released, all of which followed a 7-question structure. Most of the episodes didn't have an overall theme, although some did:

• Episode 57: An April Fools episode where the some of the questions were related to the date itself. The Jack Attack consisted of just repeating what the prompts told you to do. (This was later reused in Episode 47's Jack Attack from the 2011 edition of YOU DON'T KNOW JACK.)
• Episode 60: A special episode where Cookie tries to assassinate Nate. All of the questions that appear in this episode are related to bad omens, violence, or death. At the end of the episode, Nate would go to a honeymoon with an elephant that Cookie tried to kill him with.
• Episode 100: The final episode, where it's heavily shouted that this was the last episode of YOU DON'T KNOW JACK. This is also the first and only episode to feature Old Man, who reads out a Bingo-related prompt on the fifth question. The Jack Attack also consists of some final lines famously said in popular TV shows/movies.

VMA Edition

YOU DON'T KNOW JACK: VMA Edition was released on MTV's website (through MTV Arcade) in August 2011, created to promote the Video Music Awards event that was happening in the same year.

Its structure was the pretty much the same as the regular edition, with only a couple saturation and font adjustments, as well as a different loading screen.

The VMA Edition only consisted of two episodes—each question had something related to celebrities that would star at the Video Music Awards, such as Taylor Swift.

The VMA Edition remained up on MTV Arcade until the latter's closure in October of 2015.

Trivia

• Like the other games, YOU DON'T KNOW JACK uses the Franklin Gothic font family, designed by Morris Fuller Benton.
  • Franklin Gothic Black is used for the question titles, while a slightly thinner condensed version of Franklin Gothic is used for its answers.
  • The VMA edition uses Jack Roman (based on Franklin Gothic) for its titles, and a thicker condensed font for its answers.
• According to Episode 9, Cookie has a cousin named Chip. The question has him nagging Cookie about going to Disneyland.
• According to Episode 15, Cookie seems to have a crush on the IT lady, Gretchen.
• Jack's eyes would follow your mouse cursor every time you move around the main screen. There were several easter eggs that were present if you interacted with Jack at the title screen:
  • If you were to hover in-between Jack's eyes, they'd get cross-eyed.
  • If you were to click him whilst hovering him in that cross-eyed spot, his pupils would spin around.
  • There was a thin black line that, if hovered, Jack's eyes would turn neon red and purple, with a moving flame around his irises.
  • If you were to hover over Jack's forehead, his pupils would dilate.
