Drawful: Animate is a party video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 8. It is the third game in the Drawful series.
Gameplay
Everyone's given a prompt to draw, of which they have to draw two individual frames (or drawings) as best as they can. Just like all other Drawful entries (except for Dirty Drawful,) there is no eraser or undo button for a player to redo their strokes.
After all drawings have been submitted, manually or automatically, a player's animation will show up on-screen, with both of their frames moving simultaneously.
Everyone will then be prompted to type out a fake title for the animation that's currently being shown, with a 45 character limit.
Once all titles have been entered, everyone's fake titles as well as the true title will show up on-screen one by one. After all titles have been shown, all players will then be prompted to pick which one of the titles is the original one. After the player has voted for a title, they can give likes to any other prompt; they'll also have a chance to "double-down" on the prompt that they picked, which will double their voting outcomes.
When everyone's votes are in, all the fake titles that have gotten one or more player or audience votes will be shown, with the player who originally wrote the fake prompt; they'll get 500 points per fooled player, 1,000 points per player who doubled down, and a percentage of a 1,000 point audience pool, depending on how many audience members fell for their lie.
On the flip side, if one or more players or audience members pick the truth, the players who picked it will get 1,000 points, 2,000 points if they doubled down. The artist will also get 1,000 points for every player who picked their truth, and a percentage of the audience point pool; however, the original artist will not get any extra points per double down.
Any likes given to any of the fake answers submitted by the players will give an additional 5 points to their respective writers per like given.
Once everyone's animations have been shown, if the game has 6 or less players, another round will be played, with the same rules but with different prompts.
When all rounds are up, the final scores are tallied and a winner is declared.
Friend Mode
Friend Mode is an addition to Drawful Animate; the gameplay is pretty much the same as in regular mode, but with the inclusion of a players' name at the beginning of the prompt (i.e. [PLAYER NAME]'s favorite yoga pose or [PLAYER NAME] when nobody's looking.)
