After both rounds have concluded, the game finishes with '''<u>Cold Cases</u>'''. All murders that either were not selected during the Investigation Phase or were left unsolved are brought back for one last round, where players must vote on who they think the murderer is once and for all. Unlike the Investigation Phase, no one is assigned lead detective, even if it was their accomplice that died. After each case, the verdict is revealed with the same rules as the Investigation Phase, but with one change. If the murderer is not caught in this round, they are still revealed and receive one Murderer Point for every player they fooled. Regardless of the verdict, the calling card of the killer is highlighted in red once the killer is revealed at the end of each case.

Weapons Drawn is a social deduction video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 8.

Gameplay

Weapons Drawn is played in multiple phases. Upon starting a game, each player is assigned a letter of alphabet to be their calling card. These letters are pulled from the name they entered to join the game. For example, "Annie" would receive an A, N, I, or E. If a player joins with no alphabetical characters in their name, a prefix will be appended when they join the game.

No matter the player count, Weapons Drawn is played in three rounds, with the first two played the same.

In each round, players are asked to draw two weapons. They must hide their randomly assigned calling card in their drawings to hide their identity. In the first round, players hide an uppercase version of their letter, and their first drawing is shown publicly. In the second round, players hide a lowercase and cursive version of their letter.

After all players complete their drawings, players are asked to name an accomplice. The accomplice will attend the party and be at risk of being murdered by another player. Players should avoid making their accomplice name too obvious, as players receive Accomplice Points for murder attempts on their accomplices.

In the murdering phase, players choose an accomplice, then try to identify which player brought them. If the choice was wrong, the player will receive a clue as to who the true person that brought the accomplice is, based on the name of the incorrectly guessed player, but will have to wait a few seconds to attempt a kill again. Players that commit a murder will leave a weapon behind as evidence - they may choose which weapon to leave if they have more than one. Once enough accomplices have been killed, the phase ends. The murdering phase occurs once in the first round and twice in the second round.

All murders of the previous phase are then shown on screen, then batched into pairs. Players vote on which murder case they would like to investigate. Once a case is chosen, the person who brought the accomplice becomes the lead detective and gains a magnifying glass they can control on their device. Players vote on who they believe the killer to be. If a plurality of players vote for another player, that player will be accused of murder. If that accusation was correct, the murderer is caught and players that voted for them receive Investigation Points, with the first one to select the murderer receiving an extra point. If the accusation was incorrect, the murderer gets away with it until the Cold Cases round, but people who selected the correct killer still receive Investigation Points. In the event of a tie, the vote ends in a hung jury, and no one is accused.

After both rounds have concluded, the game finishes with Cold Cases.

At the end of the game, the top point getter in the each of the categories (Detective, Murderer, and Accomplice) is shown. Once these have concluded, the overall winner with the most points is revealed, along with what rank they achieved in each category, until the screen goes black.

Before the credits roll, the ranking of every other player is revealed.
