Junktopia is a party video game and one of five games in The Jackbox Party Pack 9.
Gameplay
All players are given three items or "antiques" to choose from on their device, with respective prices given to them. One can choose the item they desire and lock in that item by pressing the "Checkout" button.
Once the player has bought the item, they can either buy it for their regular price, or attempt to haggle it for a 10% or a 20% discount, with a random chance of them getting it or not.
If the haggle is successful, then they get said discount; however, if it's not, then the player will get a 10% or 20% increase on the price of their item, depending on which discount they chose.
The Audience can also contribute a small discount to a player of their liking.
Once all items have been bought, the players will enter a title for it, then write two descriptions. They can either pick a pre-written start-up sentence of said item or they can choose to write their own description.
When all titles and descriptions are submitted, all items will be split into two batches and the first batch will start showing its items one by one. After all items are shown, the other players will vote on which answer was their favorite between two of the shown items, which will change between different answers in the same batch.
When all players' votes are tallied, the items are shown with the player who originally wrote that item. They'll earn a 1,000 points per player vote and the price of their item is subtracted from their earnings. The audience can also split a 1,000 point bonus throughout all the players in said batch.
Then the same thing is done for the second batch, and all scores by the end of the first round are tallied up.
In the second round, there'll still be three items to buy, but the least expensive antique will be replaced with a mystery item. If the player risks to buy the mystery item, they'll be awarded with a random antique somewhat related to the items shown in the first round.
The haggling will also work the same, but this time, you'll have to choose between a 20% or 30% discount, and the decrease or increase of the price will be higher.
The antique writing and presenting will work exactly the same as the last round's.
In the third and final round, all players will be prompted to write a name for both of their bought items.
All titles, along with their items, will be shown in batches, and all other players will cast one single vote for the group they thought was their favorite.
Once all rounds are done and the scores are tallied, the winner will be declared, which will be turned into a human.
