Timejinx (stylized as TimeJINX) is a trivia video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 10.
Gameplay
The game will prompt the players with a certain milestone or event with an established time range between two specific years—the player's job is to find out at what year did said prompt took place. Players will gain points for how many years off they were from the correct answer, with the goal being to have the least amount of points throughout the game.
At around the last two prompts of the first round, a Time Hop will commence, which will time-travel the players to a certain point in time and they'll have to give an accurate response to a question that corresponds to the year by choosing one of the three answers on their device. Each correct answer will subtract the players' score by 10%.
The second round will work just the same as the first, but it'll commence a Time Loop instead, which will give the players a prompt, along with four different answers, and they'll have to choose which one's correct. After both of the prompts have been answered, they'll be shown again, with the chance to either change their already chosen answer or stick with the same one, as well as displaying slight hints to the players (a percentage of the Audience getting it right, the player in first guessing the correct answer, etc.) Players will earn a 10% subtraction from their score per correct answer, including answer switches.
The third round will grant the players outside of the top three with hints for the prompts, these include either calling out a number in a specific position in the year's date or another significant point decades or centuries after said year. There'll also be a small bonus round, which could either be a:
- Spot the Impostor round, which will have a historic figure and its "evil clone" dish out a significant fact about themselves, and the players will have to find out who's not telling the truth. Getting the answer correct will subtract the player's score by 20%.
- Geomesser round, which will show a modified image of a historic monument being replaced with an eyesore, and the players will have to find out what landmark it is by pressing one of the two answers on their device. Getting the answer correct will subtract the player's score by 20%.
Around the last two prompts of the round will commence a Time Fix, which will prompt the players with two modified historical points, with the players needing to find out what event it's referring to. Every correct answer will grant the player with a 10% subtraction to their score.
The fourth and final round will grant the players with a final fictional prompt being set in the future, of which the players will have to find out at which exact year (plus a century or millennium later) the event might happen in the future. Players will only be able to subtract their score this round, with a maximum score subtraction of 50% if they manage to get it exactly right, and descending percentages for the people who were near the scale and by how far they were.
After all rounds have concluded, the player with the lowest score overall wins the game.
