Legends of Trivia (stylized as LEGENDS of TRIVIA) is an upcoming trivia video game and one of five games featured in The Jackbox Party Pack 11.

The game, which combines fantasy trivia with RPG-inspired elements, involves players working cooperatively to correctly answer trivia questions to defeat monsters and villains.

Gameplay

When the players join the game, they'll be prompted with picking one of eight characters at their disposal, with different sets of stats attributed to each one.

As the players are greeted by the Bard, they'll encounter a Preceptorus—the tutorial monster—which will tell them the basics of the game, these include how to answer questions and how to revive. When the tutorial ends, they'll have to choice to pick one of three separate maps:

• Guessing Grove, with a 1-star difficulty.
• Cerebral Sands, with a 2-star difficulty.
• Peak Knowledge, with a 3-star difficulty.

In each one, they'll start off by choosing the path they deside to go through, which will include various question types, and they'll encounter different monsters along the way, which they'll have to answer questions correctly in order to successfully attack them. Every player who guesses the correct answer will attack the monster and reduce their health, as well as earning some coins in the process, but every player who gets it wrong will lose a chunk of their health instead; if the player loses all of their health, they'll have a chance to roll a 20-sided die to revive themselves—but it costs 250 points in order to do so—and the higher their rolls, the more health they'll return with. The Audience members can also roll the same die to either revive the players or the enemy, with the die with the highest score having an effect on the game. Every set number of turns, the monster will attack and take a chunk of all the player's health.

With every enemy defeated, a scoreboard will show in the middle, which will count up all of the coins that the players have received thus far.

The different questions that the players will encounter along the way are, in order:

• Multiple Choice: A classic 4-answer question with one of the answers being correct.
• Hidden Question: A question where all of the players will be receiving an answer on their device, whilst one of the players has the question. They can reveal the answer out loud or show it by pressing the "Show Question" button on their device.
• Double Answer: Similar to the Multiple Choice question, but two of the answers are correct instead.
• List It: A question where all the players are tasked to find all of the given answers from a certain category by typing them on their devices. Every correct answer that a player finds earns them coins.
• Riddle: A riddle is shown verse-by-verse on-screen, and the players will have to type out what the answer to the riddle is. Correctly guessing the answer heals the players.
• Image Trivia: A set of six images are shown on-screen, with each one of the players receiving one of them on their device, which they'll have to answer with "True" or "False" whether said image fits the question given or not.

A Shop will be presented in some paths along the way, which will grant the players with beneficial items in order to aid them throughout the game in exchange for some of their coins. These are, from least to most expensive:

• Blitz Attack - 75 coins: A potion that allows the player to attack the enemy during a question, without needing to answer correctly.
• Auto-Defend - 100 coins: A shield that protects the players from the monster's attack whenever it's their turn.
• Self-Healing Potion - 125 coins: A potion that allows a player to gain back 300 HP at any point in the game.
• Hint Potion - 125 coins: A potion that reveals a small hint to a given question if available.
• Auto-Revive - 200 coins: A potion that allows the player to automatically revive themselves with full health without the need to roll their die. (Only available in Peak Knowledge.)

Every map will end with a boss, with a high amount of health, and the players will be presented with a mix of all of the previously mentioned questions. Once the players managed to lower the boss' health to a considerably low amount, a Flurry of Facts will commence—a special question which will present the players with a prompt and two separate categories, and they'll be tasked to match the prompt to its corresponding category; once three of the prompts are shown, one of the categories will change. A 30-hit goal is established, and every correct answer that the players get knocks the counter down by one; once the counter hits zero, the boss will be defeated and the crew will win the game.

Once the boss has been defeated, a final scoreboard will be shown, with their final standing and coin count on-screen, then the credits will roll.

Development

The game's first prototype was pitched by artist Hector Padilla back in 2019/2020. Despite receiving positive feedback, it was ultimately put on ice due to a lot of unanswered questions regarding the game's design. Years later, Nate Sandberg, who had composed the music for Dodo Re Mi, randomly asked Hector to send him all the notes and designs he had accumulated during the pitch process—the result was a small pitch team that successfully got the green light to make the trivia-RPG game for The Jackbox Party Pack 11.

The game's basic premise was first unveiled during the Jackbox Games Direct on April 7th, 2025, where it was also revealed that the game would be directed by Warren Arnold.

The game's title, Legends of Trivia, was officially announced on June 30th, 2025 with an animated trailer, which would later serve as the game's intro before the main menu appears. It was also revealed in an Xbox Wire interview that the game's art and audio leads are Hector and Nate respectively.

From July 23rd to October 8th, all eight playable avatars were revealed in the form of avatar cards.

On September 12th, 2025, gameplay was revealed for the first time during The Jackbox Party Pack 11 First Look livestream.
